Stakeholder dialogue: exploring ways to enhance transparency requirements in the business legislation

Partnership for Economic and Social Initiatives organized a roundtable in the frame of “Strengthening Transparency Requirements in the Business Legislation” Project in Baku November 7, 2019.

Funded by the Council on State Support to Non-Governmental Organizations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Project assessed the legislative acts and normative documents governing the business activity in the area of public procurement, export and investment promotion, privatization of state property, and developed a package of recommendations geared towards improving the compliance with transparency requirements in the business legislation.

The assessment results were presented and discussed during the event, which attended by the government officials, OGP members, independent experts, representatives of civil society and international organizations. The meeting participants expressed their views on the recommendation package and weighed in on opportunities for increasing transparency in the relevant legislative acts. The event was followed with questions and answers.
