International Eurasia Press Fund

The International Eurasia Press Fund (IEPF) is an independent non-governmental organization officially registered in 1992.

IEPF works in 4 main activity directions of: Media and Civil Society development; Refugees and IDPs issues; Community development; and Peacemaking actions and Conflict Resolutions. IEPF is a member of several International networks and programs such as: US Department of State, Private Partnership Program; the International Press Institute (IPI); the European Council on Refugees and Exiles (ECRE), the International Peace Bureau (IPB), the Northern Alliance for Sustainability (ANPED) etc. IEPF is having a General Consultative Status with the ECOSOC division of the United Nations since 2014. ECOSOC Consultative Status has created great opportunities for IEPF to work on a larger scale. Moreover, IEPF was appointed as a representative of the International Peace Bureau in 18 countries (Azerbaijan, Georgia, Turkmenistan, Turkey, Iran, Iraq, Cyprus, Lebanon, Israel, Jordan, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, UAE, Oman, Yemen, Saudi Arabia, and Syria).

 

Umud Mirzayev

Umud Mirzayev joined Open Government Platform in September 2016. He is chairman of the International Eurasia Press Fund since 1992. He is the Council member of the International Peace Bureau since 2013. In the same year, Mr. Mirzayev closely participated in the establishment of the Azerbaijan Press Council and in 2005, he was appointed as a deputy chairman of this organization. Mr. Mirzayev is the chairman of the International Press Institute National Committee and board member of International Press Institute since 2012. In 2010, he was awarded with the title of Honored Worker of Culture by the decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan. In 1999, Mr. Mirzayev participated in the creation of the NGO Forum and he is the deputy chairman of the Forum. He is the member of the Azerbaijan Writers’ Union.

Mr. Mirzayev holds Bachelor’s degree in Literature from the Literature Institute named after A.M. Gorky.
