Elkhan Shukurlu
Elkhan Shukurlu joined Open Government Platform in September 2016. He is one of the charter members who signed the memorandum to establish Open Government Platform in Azerbaijan. He currently serves as the Chairman for ‘Information, Analysis and Planning’ Public Union. The Union’s aim is to assist in doing researches on civil society. Mr. Shukurlu organized the project called “Support of the media to “The National Action Plan for the promotion of open government in the years of 2016-2018”. The aim of the project was to inform different parts of the society about the Open Government Partnership through the active media support. Under the project, The Open Government Initiative section was established on Strateq.az. Prior to working at ‘Information, Analysis and Planning’ Public Union Mr. Shukurlu worked as a freelance journalist. He was also a spokesperson of the Justice Party and managed the Press and Information Center of the party. He started his career as a reporter at the ‘525th newspaper’; later he was an editor at the ‘Ulus’ newspaper and worked as a reporter and chief-editor assistant at “Hurriyet”.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Library Science.
